@Guido D’Amore could you submit us your logfile and ideally also some footage of this happening? either here or to support@captureage.com

It would be good to open a bug report in the official age of empires forums as well, since it is the game that crashes, it may not be handling a some situation properly - https://forums.ageofempires.com/c/age-of-empires-ii/aoe2-de-bugs/102

Ask GPT or other AI for step-by-step help with any of these steps. Send the logs from %APPDATA%\CaptureAge\logs and C:\Users\<yourusername>\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\logs\ -> replace <yourusername> in here. I just made a post with the exact same problem. https://captureage.nolt.io/179

@Guido D’Amore @George Munteanu

⚠️ Ensure to only share these files with a CaptureAge member directly (as indicated by the Developer role on Discord) or to our support e-mail (support@captureage.com) along with a reference to the most recent communication if it took place on a different medium (like Discord). These files may contain some personal information (as detailed under CA’s privacy policy - https://captureage.com/privacy) ⚠️

CA:DE Logfile:
Find your logfiles by putting %APPDATA%\CaptureAge\logs into your File Explorer’s address bar (to the left of the Search box). If you haven’t experienced your current issue before, also see if there are any old log files and include those.

DxDiag:
Create this file by pressing the Windows key button, typing dxdiag, and then the enter key.
The DirectX Diagnostic Tool window will open.
Wait for the information summary to finish (as indicated by the progress bar to the bottom). then click Save All Information, save the file with your username in it (i.e DxDiag(Username).txt)

Footage:
Screenshots, screencasts, or even phone videos will help us gain more context for troubleshooting your issue
If your issue is related to lag or performance hiccups, it is also important to including the built-in CA:DE FPS counter, which can be enabled with F10. Having task manager information can also be helpful
