As per the screenshot below, I installed CA for the first time. Whenever I try to load any replay I get the error message “Unexpected error encountered in application” and get stuck in waiting for interface.
My specs are as follow:
OS: Windows 10
GPU: Rtx 3090
CPU: i7-10700k
Mointor: 34-inch wide screen with 2k resolution.

Hey are you using the windows store version or the Steam version? CaptureAge doesn’t currently support the windows store version unfortunately, here’s the nolt link for that issue: https://captureage.nolt.io/10
This is something we’d love to support as soon as we can, however there are many factos at play.
If you are running Steam version the next step would be sending us your CA log/DxDiag files, please direct message this to me on our discord or email it to: support@captureage.com
You can find your logfile by putting %APPDATA%\CaptureAge\logs into your File Explorer’s address bar (to the left of the Search box).
Only send log files to developers, as they may contain some personal information (which all falls under CA’s privacy policy - https://captureage.com/privacy).
To get the DxDiag file refer to this image: https://cdnb.nolt.io/image/upload/upxot7stzdyi6abr8fh8/1618567796.png

Hi I believe I am using the steam version. I installed CA by clicking on watch using CA in AOE2 DE and it auto installed for me.
I followed your steps and went into my log folder. I could not find any DxDiag.txt file, all I found was a main.log file.

Based on the above circumstances it sounds similar to an issue one user had. Since then the error messages have recived an update, if it says display error you can try running CA on Windows 8 compatibility mode.

Archived due to not being a current report. We already have https://captureage.nolt.io/133 for a similar issue that is newer
