Similar to CA-classic make it possible to spectate your own currently run AI vs AI game.
Background: AI-scripters run lots of AI vs AI games to test and analyze their AI.
Also they stream from time to time AI-tourneys (currently AI Ladder for DE-AIs).
Several AIs have been created for DE or made compatible to DE to some extend like Beginner, Rehoboam, Forthwind, Bambi, TRiBaL Warriors, Odette, The General.
CA-classic has been used in the Davis Cup V AI tourney for Userpatch AIs.

While you can record the AI-games and play the recs with CA it would be very convenient to spectated them live.

I fully agree with Thwatrli, in addition to streaming it would also be a great help for AI scripters to see all of CaptureAge’s information about the game state mid-game. :)

Thinking about solutions we can consider in a wider scope of things. Would enabling the cheats option in the lobby be a problem for this use case?

Cheat enabled is fine, since without CA the first thing you do, when watching AI games is “marco” “polo” and often using the (cheat-) hotkey to switch to a different pov.

Additionally AIs would still be able to cheat in other ways if they wanted to even without that setting anyway. So it doesn’t serve as a protection for that regardless.
That would be fine. :)

Perfect, thanks for the information :)

This is now supported :)
We’re aware of some potental issues regarding pauses/larger games potentially so if you do run into any specific issues with these please let us know.
Hopefully things work smoothly for you guys and that you get plenty of use out of it!
