Honestly, the game’s pop history graph doesn’t tell that much about the game and it can be hard to read, specially for new players.
That’s why I don’t understand why having the chance of taking (almost) all the info we want thanks to Capture Age we can’t get some AoE3 graphs, with much more relevant data in a format much easier to read.
Here’s a reddit post that I found with a lot of examples from AoE3:DE. (of course not all of them are applicable because of the differences between both games)

Thanks for the suggestion.
We have some improvements in the works. For the current one we were aiming for feature completeness with the game - to keep some familiarities.
I do not agree that a line graph serves the same purpose, nor is it necessarily easier to read for all cases. For example 16 lines across the screen, often overlapping, are not as easy to parse as overlapping ones. However lines do give more precise data. I do agree though that there are things that are more relevant to show, as is enabling the user to decide what to check.
We will start by releasing an improvement on the current graph that better accentuates battles in the coming weeks. Then as this feature becomes more upvoted (I personally think it should, because graphs are great) we will add some more graphs and graph types that were suggested here (and we might come up with a few ourselves as well)
The 1.4.13 update provides various new options for the graphs and CA also has line graphs now. I think that fulfills the request in the issue description. If you have feedback about the new graphs, please make a new issue 🙂
