Failed to open capture age to spectate a recorded game#172

Since a while when i try to using CA i have the error that i can not open in de AOE2 replay menu with the button for CA to spectate a game. It gives me the message: ‘Failed to open capture age to spectate a recorded game’. Pls can u help me to fix this?

@Wbikker3 Did this start happening after a game update? we haven’t updated CA:DE since January, so it’s unlikely this was a reason. Does launching CA:DE manually work to spectate if you then open the match from AoE2?

If this started happening without the game or CA:DE updating, then I’d suggest verifying the game files on Steam, trying again, and if the issue persists then reinstalling CA:DE, and if it still persists reinstalling AoE2

Thank u for your answer, i can watch replays when i open it in capture age itself, but in AOE2 ingame with that button to view in CA it does not work. I have reinstalled aoe2 and CA en the problems still happens. What do u mean with veryfing game files on steam?
