Please see the attached text file. I’ve detailed the results of recordings I’ve saved since Version 1.16.0 came out. I’m on an HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2xxx running Windows 11 Home. Feel free to ask me further questions for more data. Excited to see fully working versions of these recordings!

@Bfh529 hello! Thanks for this valuable report.
Would it be possible for you to upload some of the non-working games so we can test them? Using a service like wetransfer would be good enough. If not able to upload them, sharing the match information so we can find the recs online and produce .caderecs from those would also help.
Also, about the game with two different file sizes, were these .caderec files created when spectating game rec files sourced from different player POVs, or was it literally the same rec giving out different sizes on 2 different attempts? That one we’d be very interested in, too
I can do some using wetransfer, but not all. Let me know which you’d like to see and where I should send them. I could also try to share match information; how would you like me to do that? What information do you need me to share?
For the game with two different file sizes, I believe the first time I was just watching casually, from multiple POVs. The second time I played it on max speed with one player’s POV.

@Bfh529 any of the ones that don’t work would be fine to share. As per game information, if you could provide me with some of the team composition, civ information, and map played, I can find the recs online. Alternatively you can upload the source recs here.
The game with two different file sizes that would be also useful to have both .caderec files for, if possible.
Thanks for your help :)
I need an email to send the .caderec files to via wetransfer.

@Bfh529 You can send it to support@captureage.com, however, if you click on the three dots you’ll also get the option to share with a link, instead.
Thanks for the match information. This should be enogh for me to locate all the games 🙏

@Bfh529 I think I might have been able to reproduce the different size caderec thing. It happened when I loaded the game before the first .caderec file finished generating. So it was still playable, but it would only reach a certain point of the game and the rest would be missing. When ensuring it was saved completely (as indicated by a green notification in the bottom right corner) the file sizes were almost identical.
Could you take a look to see if the smaller file from that game plays completely through for you? If not, that might be the issue.
Here’s the link for the two .caderecs of different sizes of the same game:
I can’t play either of those files at all. Upon clicking them, I get the error “Unexpected error encountered in application.” This is the same error I get for all the unplayable .caderecs I have. For each .caderec, it either plays perfectly all the way through or not at all.

@Bfh529 I’ve verified after some testing that these are indeed broken. It seems there are a few instances in which CA:DE can generate incomplete or corrupt files. Could it be that you started watching another match or quit CA:DE after saving a .caderec file before the green notification came up? We’ve noticed this seems to be the cause.
We have added some items to our backlog to ensure CA:DE is clearer about successful and interrupted saves, as well as ensuring we handle corrupt files without crashing.
For now it’d be good to know if you’re still getting rec issues when waiting for the green notification to come up at the bottom-right corner before loading a different match or quitting CA:DE - hopefully that was the only reason :)
Thanks for your help so far!
Well, that seemed to be it! I watched the replay again and made sure to see the green notification before quitting CA:DE, and the recording worked perfectly afterwards. Interestingly, the new recording is 865 MB, more than those other two combined.
I’ll try doing this with all the other recordings that didn’t work and get back to you if I have troubles with any of them. Thanks for the help!

@Bfh529 Amazing. Thank you for your help!
